Robert Reese, Lancaster PA wealth management advisor and founder of Reese Legacy Capital, next to the Legacy Building service heading

Based in Lancaster, PA. Meetings in person locally, or by video with a limited number of clients in other states.

If you’re looking for a Lancaster, PA financial advisor and you’ve hit the same wall most people your age hit, you have real assets to invest, but you’re not “wealthy enough” for the private-client desk at the wirehouse, and you don’t want to be handed off to a junior associate you’ll never meet, that’s exactly what ‘Legacy Building’ is for.

No model portfolios. No generic risk questionnaire that spits out a pie chart. I sit down with you, learn your actual situation including your family, your income, your timeline, what you’re actually trying to build, and then manage your portfolio directly around that. Then I stay the one implementing it, not just the one who wrote the plan and handed it off.

Who this is for

Legacy Building is for people in Lancaster County who are actively building wealth, not people who’ve already arrived at it. That usually looks like:

  • A growing family where your financial picture is changing every year, a new job, a growing income, kids, a house — and a static plan from three years ago doesn’t fit anymore.
  • Investable assets that are real, but below the six- or seven-figure minimum most Lancaster wealth management firms quietly require before they’ll give you a direct relationship with an actual adviser.
  • A preference for one person who knows your situation and manages it directly, over a call-center model where you explain your life story to a different associate every time you call.

What “wealth management made simple” actually means here

It means I don’t make you translate your life into financial jargon before I’ll help you. It means:

  • One direct relationship. You work with me. Not a team, not a rotating group of associates, not a call center that routes you to whoever’s available.
  • A plan built around your situation, not a template. Your portfolio is managed around your actual goals, timeline, and risk tolerance — not a standardized model everyone at the firm gets slotted into.
  • I implement what I recommend. A lot of advisers will build you a beautiful plan and then leave the follow-through to you. I stay the fiduciary managing the account, making the trades, and adjusting the approach as your life changes — not just the person who drew up the strategy.
  • Straight answers. If something in your financial life doesn’t need to change, I’ll tell you that instead of manufacturing a reason to sell you a product.

How I work with you

  1. A real conversation about where you are. Income, assets, debt, family situation, what “financial security” actually means to you — not a form, an actual conversation.
  2. A portfolio built around that conversation. Not a risk-tolerance quiz mapped to one of five pre-built models. Direct, tailored portfolio management built around your specific goals and timeline.
  3. Ongoing management, not a one-time plan. As your income grows, your family changes, or your goals shift, the portfolio moves with you — because I’m the one still managing it, not a plan sitting in a drawer.
  4. A fiduciary standard on every decision. As a registered investment adviser, I’m legally obligated to act in your best interest — not to sell you whatever product pays the highest commission, because I don’t work on commission.

Why fiduciary matters here

Not every financial professional in Lancaster is held to the same standard. A fiduciary is legally required to act in your best interest, full stop — not just recommend something “suitable.” As the founder of Reese Legacy Capital and a registered investment adviser, that standard applies to every recommendation I make and every trade I execute on your behalf. It’s not a marketing line; it’s the legal standard I operate under.

Common questions

Do I need a certain account size?

There isn’t a private-client minimum designed to keep you out. There is a practical point where a direct, non-model relationship makes sense. The first conversation is how we figure that out.

Do you use model portfolios?

No. Each portfolio is built and managed directly around the actual household or trust it belongs to.

Are you a fiduciary?

Yes. Reese Legacy Capital is a registered investment adviser. I am legally obligated to act in your best interest.

Do you only work with people in Lancaster?

The practice is built in Lancaster County. Most relationships are local. I can work with a small number of clients in other states by video. Those relationships stay under five clients in any state where the firm is not registered. Let’s talk about your situation today by starting a conversation. Or calling  717-327-9582.

How is this different from a large national firm?

At a certain point, most large firms stop assigning you an adviser and start assigning you a service team. Your account gets the same allocation as others in the same bracket. Here you work with the person managing the portfolio.

What happens after I reach out?

A direct conversation about where you are. No questionnaire that sorts you into a bucket. No pitch deck.
